The Saudi Council of Engineers announced the adoption of a new update to the mechanism for implementing professional examinations, as part of a step aimed at developing the professional accreditation system and enhancing the quality of engineering practice in the Kingdom.
The Council explained that the new mechanism adopts a gradual approach to the implementation of professional examinations, whereby the examinations have become optional for graduates prior to 2025, contributing to facilitating accreditation procedures and taking into account the diversity of professional experience.
The Council further clarified that this update comes as part of the periodic review of the Professional Accreditation Guide, in line with the aspirations of members and the needs of the engineering sector, and with the aim of enhancing the flexibility of accreditation procedures.
