The Chairman of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Eng. Saad bin Mohammed Al Shahrani, has opened the activities of the Engineering Education Forum under the title "Sustainability and Smart Society" in Makkah, organized by the Saudi Council of Engineers in cooperation with the Federation of Engineering Organizations in Islamic Countries.

Eng. Saad Al-Shahrani presented  a speech in which he welcomed the participants in the forum from the members of the Union of Islamic Engineering Organizations, and the guests of the conference, emphasized that the Authority is honored to host the Engineering Education Forum, indicating the importance of the Forum in terms of building strategic plans for the future of engineering education at all levels and specializations, and access to the latest educational programs and plans in developed and advanced countries in the engineering field, and how they reach to be at the forefront of countries in terms of academic and professional development.

He explained that the forum, which will be held over two days, presents 19 working papers will be discussed through the names of prominent academics and professionals from different engineering organizations and Islamic countries, the most important standards of engineering education, academic accreditation and professional tests, while addressing the future of engineering in general and related developments.

It is noteworthy that the Engineering Education Forum is an extension of the efforts exerted by all those in charge of the engineering members of the Federation of Engineering Organizations in Islamic Countries, to keep pace with the development in the field of engineering continuously, in order to develop the engineering sector at all levels, to upgrade the national economy and national output in Member Countries.
