The Saudi Council of Engineers has officially announced its accession to the International Engineering Alliance through the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA). This strategic move aims to strengthen the Kingdom's presence within global professional organizations and elevate international recognition of Saudi competencies in the engineering sector.
The International Engineering Alliance is one of the most prominent global professional entities, comprising numerous engineering councils and organizations from various continents. It works to develop professional accreditation systems, enhance the quality of engineering education, and facilitate mutual recognition of qualifications and expertise among member countries.
The Secretary-General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Eng. Abdulmohsen bin Dhawi Al-Majnouni, affirmed that this accession “reflects the result of diligent efforts exerted by the Council to develop the engineering sector in the Kingdom and connect it with international bodies concerned with accreditation and professional recognition." He pointed out that this step will “enable Saudi engineers to work in international markets according to the highest standards and reinforce the global standing of Saudi engineers".
Through its membership in the Alliance, the Saudi Council of Engineers seeks to achieve several objectives, most notably strengthening the Council's international standing as a reference institution, participating in the development of global policies and standards, and enabling Saudi engineers to benefit from opportunities for continuous professional development.
This membership reflects the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to engaging with international professional bodies, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives aimed at enhancing competitiveness, developing human capital, and elevating the quality of professional practice across various sectors, with the engineering sector at the forefront.
